I worked as an award winning art director and commerical illustrator for over 20 years, before becoming a full time fine arts painter. Today I split my time between commission portraits and gallery painting. My work is exhibited in juried exhibitions and galleries nationally. I am very proud to be the 2005 West Coast Pastel Society's Best of Show winner for a pastel portrait that was shown in their International Exhibition. Other honors I have received include Best of Show for the 2003 Women Artists of the West Show, 2nd Place for the 2004 Pastel Society of Florida, Merit Award at the 2004 West Coast Pastel Society, as well as The Art Directors Club, Merit Award, and the California Arts Show, Award of Excellence for my commercial work. My work is collected by numerous private patrons, as well as St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.
I have a BFA from Art Center College of Design, and am currently working on my MFA at the Art Academy in San Francisco. My final MFA thesis is on The Journey of Birth which focuses on portraiture and figurative work. I have studied with Bob Gerbracht, Jove Wang, Craig Nelson and Zhaoming Wu. I have also studied at the Art Academy of Paris, with special study in the Louvre, the Tate Gallery in London. In addition I had the honor of studying Russian painters at the Art Academy of Russia, Russian Museum, the Hermitage and The National Museum of Russian Fine Art, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia.
